Detection of Microorganism

• Contact Plate
  
  
  • Make a plate medium in contact with the surface to be tested
    
    
  • Incubate the plate to grow colonies to be counted
    
    
• Swabbing
  
  
  • Swab the surface to be tested
    
    
  • Streak a plate medium with the swab
    
    or
    
    Spread an aliquot of dispersion, prepared by soaking and shaking the swab in sterile water, on a plate medium
    
    
  • Incubate the plate to grow colonies to be counted
